Edward Salem is the author of two books: Intifadas (2026), chosen by Hanif Abdurraqib as the winner of the Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry, and Monk Fruit (2025), a winner of the Nightboat Poetry Prize. His writing has appeared in The Paris Review, The Yale Review, Granta, POETRY, The New York Review of Books, and numerous other venues. He was awarded a Kresge Artist Fellowship and was the winner of the BOMB Magazine Fiction Contest, selected by Ottessa Moshfegh, and the PEN/Robert J. Dau Prize. An artist working in performance and experimental film, his work has been presented at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, The Hangar in Beirut, and elsewhere. He is the co-founder and artistic director of City of Asylum/Detroit.
