Edward Salem is the author of Intifadas (2026), selected by Hanif Abdurraqib as the winner of the Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry, and Monk Fruit (2025), winner of the Nightboat Poetry Prize. His poems and fiction have appeared in The Paris Review, The Yale Review, Granta, Poetry, The New York Review of Books, and numerous other venues. He is a founding co-director of City of Asylum/Detroit. Born in Detroit to Palestinian parents, he was an artist throughout his thirties, working in performance, street interventions, and experimental film.
