Edward Salem is the author of two books: Intifadas (2026), chosen by Hanif Abdurraqib as the winner of the Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry, and Monk Fruit (2025), a winner of the Nightboat Poetry Prize. Formerly an artist working in performance and experimental film, his writing has appeared in The Paris Review, The Yale Review, Granta, Poetry, The New York Review of Books, and numerous other venues. He was awarded a Kresge Artist Fellowship, and was the winner of the BOMB Magazine Fiction Contest, selected by Ottessa Moshfegh, and the PEN/Robert J. Dau Prize. He is the co-founder of City of Asylum/Detroit.
