Lion of Manara

Palestinian-grown strawberries, once a staple of Gaza’s export economy, are difficult to find in the West Bank due to Israeli closures and the destruction of Gaza’s farmland. Most strawberries you find in the West Bank come from Israel. In this street intervention, I smeared Israeli strawberries on one of the iconic lion sculptures in Manara Square in downtown Ramallah.
